Nomination and Selection Process
There are three categories for selection of inductees into the Duncan Area Arts Hall of Fame:
Pathfinder: This is an artist, patron, or organization whose contributions have had a profound impact on the development and evolution of culture and arts in the Duncan area.
Patron: Noteworthy individual or organization that has given prolonged and exceptional service and support to the artistic and multicultural activities in the Duncan area.
Artist: Noteworthy individual or group who through a substantial body of work in an artistic discipline of music, visual arts, or performing arts has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments that have brought benefit, entertainment, and recognition to the Duncan area community.
A nomination form will be available for each of the categories online at the Duncan Area Arts Hall of Fame section of the Simmons Center website in early Spring. The public is invited and encouraged to nominate deserving individuals and/or Groups.
A Nomination Review Committee, appointed by the Hall of Fame Committee, will review, validate, and prioritize nominees based on criteria established by the Hall of Fame Committee.
Each year the Duncan Area Arts Hall of Fame Committee appoints a selection committee whose members span the artistic fields.
This committee will review the nominees from the Nomination Committee and select the inductees for the year’s award ceremony.
